Save the Sound Website Coverage of First Annual Black Rock Water Quality Summit
Was it really just a few months ago that nearly 100 of us gathered together at the Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture School on February 26, 2020? Seems like a lifetime ago. We had no idea COVID-19 was lurking in the wings at that time. Less than a month later our state shut down.
This article gives us a chance to revisit sunnier days, when we could share refreshments, socialize, and sit right next to each other in a packed auditorium. The summit gathered area residents, local officials and water quality experts to discuss the current conditions and future improvements in Black Rock Harbor and Bridgeport’s progress in addressing municipal sewage overflows and stormwater mitigation. This article on Save the Sound’s website includes a link to a video of the event, in case you missed it.
There is no way to plan a Second Annual Black Rock Harbor Quality Summit at this time given COVID-19 safety concerns. The energy in the room created an amazing evening for all, so we are hoping to have another in-person event when it’s safe to be together again.
