A group of citizen scientist volunteers has been formed to document the community work with regard to cleaning up Black Rock Harbor. Pete Spain, Kevin Blagys, and Jon Fatigate are leading the way starting with a Facebook page, which they created on February 26th when the First Black Rock Harbor Water Quality Summit was held.
Jon Fatigate is a videographer who has volunteered his talents to create videos and social media campaigns that engage the community to inspire participation in the various projects associated with cleaning up Black Rock Harbor. A storm water drain stenciling program is in the planning stages. Jon will document the UWS effort this season.
ACCA will play a supporting role for this important work along with other Black Rock organizations. As you know, we were designated the local organization for leading the Unified Water Study and the UWS is the key data gathering component of this effort. Our UWS project manager, Kevin Blagys, is a founding member of this community group and created the group’s Facebook page.
Please LIKE their Facebook page, so that you can receive their posts on your Facebook feed and let them know you appreciate their work.
